BENGALURU: The Karnataka high court on Tuesday passed an interim order restraining the Joint Action Committee (JAC) of the Trade Unions of
Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation Employees and it's constituents from proceeding with their proposed transport strike from May 20, in terms of their resolution dated April 29,2026.
A vacation division bench comprising Justices Suraj Govindaraj and K Manmadha Rao passed this year after hearing a public interest litigation (PIL) filed by C Vedavathi,a house wife and HV Sreedhara, both residents of Bengaluru and stated to be dependent upon public transport for their day to day commuting.
The division bench also ordered notice to the state government,the
KSRTC,BMTC, NWKRTC and the KKRTC,ie, the four state owned transport corporations.
