Kavita Kaushik

I took up my first job in college. I hosted a show for a channel and was paid Rs 1,500 for a day's work. They had canned five episodes with me. I handed the money over to my mother.

Shikha Singh

It was Rs 50,000, eight years ago for the show 'Salaam Zindagi', even after my episodes were scrapped. This happened right after I finished college. I had come to Mumbai for a show I auditioned for, but I never got paid for it. In fact, I was shocked when they called me to collect my dues after 90 days. I had actually forgotten about it. I still remember asking them if they were really paying me for the scrapped episodes. I spent it on my daily expenditures as I was on my own in the city. My mother always told me to save money for a rainy day, I follow her advice till date.

Mayank Gandhi

My first job was dubbing for Donald Duck back in 2009. I was paid Rs 2,000. I donated it to a temple and prayed for more work, as I didn't know anyone in the TV industry.

6/11

Yash Sinha

This happened nearly 12 years ago when I was in college. My friends and I had put up a stall at an exhibition, and we got Rs 100 each. I still remember being disappointed as my thumbs were paining from having to put up endless pins. Since we were staying away from our homes, we used the money we made to gorge on some food.

7/11

Gaurav Chaudhary

My first job was a part time one at a multi-screen theatre during my first year of engineering. They would give me Rs 20 per hour. I would work there three days a week after college and my first salary was Rs 3000. I gave it to my dad, who contributed some money from his end and bought me a computer.

Kushwant Walia

I started working in the year 2006 and my first job was with an airline as cabin crew. I got my first salary, which was technically a stipend of Rs 7,500, during our three-months training. I bought a shirt for my father and a cake for my mother. I also saved enough to take my family out for a nice dinner.

9/11

Sharhaan Singh

I had my first job in 2003, while pursuing my post graduation in theatre, in Patiala. I worked on a show as a production designer and earned Rs 1,100. I bought a mobile phone and donated some money at a gurudwara. As a child, I always thought that whenever I start earning, I will spend it on my mother, but unfortunately, she passed away before that.

10/11

Rohit Joshi

I got my first cheque of around Rs 60,000 for playing Salim's friend, Farhan, in 'Jodha Akbar'. I bagged the role following a long struggle after being selected on 'Cinestar Ki Khoj'. I bought a sari for my mother, a wallet for my father and dresses for my sister and girlfriend.

11/11

Muskan Arora

I made Rs 1,500 from my first TVC at the age of 14. I decided to travel back home by bus to save money for mobile recharge and shopping. However, after reaching home, I realised that I was robbed of my wallet. I cried like a baby as I wanted to do so many things with my first salary. I was pacified by my grandmother, who told me that the person who took my money must have been in dire needs.
