JODHPUR: Border Security Force (BSF) which has come under the scanner after the reports and findings of the state police in the recently unearthed international human trafficking scandal here has swung into action for plugging the chinks. IG (Intelligence) Aditya Mishra, in Delhi, while speaking to The Times of India over phone said that
BSF officials have been asked to get in touch with Jodhpur police officials to find out the names of the places where the BSF officials allegedly took bribe to let the Bangladeshi girls enter into the Indian territory.
Madam Sukhjaan alias Nandini currently on the police remand under Prevention of Immoral Traffic Act (PITA) in this racket reportedly said that she used to give Rs 1,500 per girl to the middle man Quitab Bhai for liaising with the BSF officials at Panchita near Bongaon, West Bengal, to let them cross over to the Indian side from Jessore district in Bangladesh. Police officials said that Sukhjan revealed that the illegal crossing over to India takes place during many times in a day, all around the year. Nandini reportedly said that at least twice a day the barbed wire is lifted up at certain places to give a safe passage to these girls, who are further pushed into illegal trade in India.
Initially, the two girls rescued from a house in Rai Ka Bagh and working for Nandini had shared that Nandini told them that she had to pay Rs 10,000 to 15,000 per girl for greasing the palms of BSF officials manning the international border along Bangladesh. Nandini, like many other madams and agents, reportedly involved in this international human trafficking racket definitely could not dodge the Border Security Force officials manning the Indo-Bangladesh border.
IG Aditya Mishra while speaking to The Times of India said that BSF is working closely with two NGOs for repatriating such Bangladeshi girls crossing over to India without any valid documents. "The border along Bangladesh is long, open and porous and the terrain itself poses many difficulties. However, we would like to plug all chinks along this border being manned by BSF," he said adding that enquiry would be conducted after taking input from the Rajasthan police with respect to the places identified by those caught in this racket to identify the erring officials.
Meanwhile, as divulged by Nandini, Quitab Bhai is the mystery man liaising between BSF and pimp. As such, both Jodhpur police as well the BSF are now on a hot pursuit to nab this man. BSF officials said that BSF has a zero tolerance policy for those involved in such acts. Phone records of Nandini, another accused Sujoy Biswas brought from Laxmipur West Bengal are being scanned by cops to nab Quitab Bhai following which the BSF links reportedly would become clearer. BSF officials have reportedly approached the Jodhpur police officials for more information to kick start its own house cleaning act. Cops here are also working in liaison with the West Bengal anti-human trafficking unit.
