The Madhya Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation has recently announced that a rail coach restaurant will be set up in Indore soon. The government is currently on the lookout for a suitable location, which will be turned into a train restaurant. With a similar restaurant already operating in Bhopal, the city too is preparing for this exciting food joint that will match international standards.

Le Train Bleu — Paris, France This restaurant boasts of impressive interiors that remind one of antique trains with leather upholstered wall seats and white table cloths. Regulars at this restaurant at one point included Coco Chanel, Salvador Dali as well as French actor Jean Gabin. Recently, French director Luc Besson immortalised this food joint in his film Nikita.
Royal Express — Dubai, United Arab Emirates Located inside a hotel, the Royal Express is one of the most magnificent train-themed restaurants globally. It resembles a dining carriage and one can hear the occasional sound of a steam whistle too. The restaurant serves Indian cuisine and offers some interesting dishes that were popular during the Maharaja days.
Fritz’s Railroad Restaurant — Kansas, USA Electric trains running at the edge of the ceiling are a major attraction at this restaurant, where children below 12 get a free engineer’s hat. Orders are placed through the phone booths located next to tables.
The Choo-Choo — Illinois, USA Set up in 1951, the meals at this restaurant are served to seated guests by trains on track and the waitresses are dressed as engineers.
The Junction Diner Train — Illinois, USA This is Chicago’s newest restaurant with a train theme. The menu here has been designed in a way where kids can relish some healthy options, which are often served on toy trains built on tiny rail tracks on the tables.
