LUCKNOW: Murder of a primary school teacher on the campus of Sakshi Maharaj's ashram in Farrukhabad on Friday morning added to the rising political temperature in Uttar Pradesh. Maharaj, a two-time BJP MP and now leader of the Rashtriya Kranti Party (RKP), however, said it was "a deliberate act of my detractors''.
Farrukhabad SP Kashi Nath told TOI that the employees of the ashram, situated in Shyam Nagar locality under Kotwali police station of the district, informed that a gunshot was heard from a locked room of the ashram.

When the police entered the room, they found the body of the girl, identified as Ragini Rajput, lying inside with a wound on the chest.
Dharmendra Rajput, who is incharge of the asharm, was missing. Other employees told police that the girl was last seen with a local youth, Neeraj Rajput. "The ashram is owned by Sakshi Maharaj and also serves as a dharamshala,'' the officer told TOI.
Initial inquiries revealed that the deceased worked as a teacher at a local private school situated a short distance from the her house in Shyam Nagar. Her father Devesh Kumar, a lawyer, said Ragini left the house around 8 am for the school.
The prime suspect, Neeraj Rajput, also lives in the same locality and is reportedly missing since the incident came to light. Quoting preliminary investigations, incharge of the Kotwali police station inspector Vijay Kumar Misra said that Neeraj apparently had an affair with Ragini until recently.
A party-hopper, Maharaj, is not in the fray in the Lok Sabha elections but has recently found a friend in BJP ever since the saffron brigade's poster boy Kalyan Singh abandoned ties with the BJP.
