Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
In Lucknow, NSUI workers demonstrated against the scheme and were detained by security personnel, visuals shared by ANI showed. Police moved in as protesters raised slogans during the agitation.
Meanwhile, security was tightened outside Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s public outreach office in Varanasi ahead of the NSUI’s proposed “Save MGNREGA” march. All routes leading to the office were placed under strict surveillance by police and paramilitary forces, according to officials.
