NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court today agreed to look into the alleged murder of a journalist in Uttar Pradesh and sought response from the Centre and state government on why CBI probe be not directed in the case. A bench of Justices MY Eqbal and Arun Mishra issued notice to governments on PIL seeking CBI probe into the case. The petition alleged that the Joginder Singh was doused with kerosene and was set ablaze at the behest of a UP minister. The petitioner, Satish Jain, said that state police was not conducting proper probe in the case and trying to protect the accused. He sought investigation be handed over to CBI.
