NEW DELHI: The daughter of Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri has approached the Delhi High Court seeking an injunction and damages against several individuals and online platforms for allegedly circulating defamatory content linking her to criminal Jeffrey Epstein.
In her plea, the petitioner alleged that false and defamatory statements have been widely circulated on social media and digital platforms, creating a misleading narrative about her association with Epstein, news agency ANI reported. She contended that the content has caused serious harm to her reputation and personal standing.
She further argued that the attacks are motivated and targeted because she is the daughter of Union minister Hardeep Singh Puri, who previously served in the Indian Foreign Service.
The petition seeks directions to restrain the individuals and platforms from publishing or sharing such material in the future, removal of the existing content from online platforms, and compensation for damages caused by the alleged defamation.
