CHENNAI: The Times of India report about
Justice C S Karnan's petition to the National Commission for Scheduled Castes (NCSC), alleging victimization on caste grounds, created ripples in the judiciary with delegations of advocates discussing the issue with Madras high court chief justice M Y Eqbal on Wednesday.
Justice Karnan, in his complaint to the NCSC, stated that he was being subjected to humiliation and some of his colleagues in the judiciary attempted to instigate him using lawyers close to them.
On Wednesday, a delegation of dalit lawyers sought an appointment with the chief justice to discuss the issue. The lawyers wanted the original portfolio of Justice Karnan to be restored and urged the chief justice to identify the culprits and punish them.
