Supreme Court to take up pleas on Ayodhya title dispute case today

NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court is scheduled to take up on Friday a batch of petitions for hearing in the Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid title dispute case. The matter is listed before a bench comprising CJI Ranjan Gogoi and Justice S K Kaul. It is likely to constitute a three-judge bench for hearing as many as 14 appeals filed against the 2010

judgment.


The hearing on Friday assumes importance as PM Modi on Tuesday said any call on an ordinance on the temple can happen only after the judicial process. Meanwhile, an RSS functionary threatened a sit-in protest if there’s no “favourable judgment” in 15-20 days.

Impeach CJI for delaying verdict, says litigant
One of the main litigants in the title suit, Mahant Dharam Das, on Thursday demanded impeachment of the CJI for “delaying judgment”.
