'Stop oppression, free Chinmoy Krishna Das': RSS condemns persecution of Hindus in Bangladesh
NEW DELHI: In a call to action, RSS has called upon the Bangladeshi authorities to take decisive steps in curbing violence against minorities and ensuring justice for the victims and immediate release of those unjustly imprisoned, including religious leader Chinmoy Krishna Das on Saturday. In a statement by RSS general secretary Dattatreya Hosabale, it has also asked the Indian govt to intensify diplomatic efforts to address the situation, which include engaging with international institutions and governments to highlight the plight of minorities in Bangladesh and mobilising global support.
The crisis in Bangladesh, marked by violence and persecution of religious minorities, has raised serious global concerns. Hindus and other minorities face attacks, killings, and systemic oppression, often targeting women, driven by Islamic extremists. A troubling case is the arrest of Chinmoy Krishna Das, a revered ISKCON sanyasi advocating peacefully for minority rights, highlighting the suppression of dissent and silencing of justice-seekers.
Demanding immediate cease of atrocities against Hindus and release of Das, Hosabale said: “Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) strongly condemns these acts. Instead of taking appropriate steps to stop these incidents, the current Government of Bangladesh and other concerned agencies have remained a mute spectator. Out of helplessness, when Bangladeshi Hindus resorted to raising their voice democratically for self-protection, to suppress their voice, a new phase of injustice and oppression is visibly emerged,” adding that the arrest was unfair, and called “upon the Government of Bangladesh to immediately stop the atrocities being committed against Hindus and release Pujya Shri Chinmoy Krishna Das ji from the prison.”
Reminding the Indian government of its role as neighbour and the global community, the RSS called for diplomatic efforts and intervention from international institutions to ensure accountability and promote peace.
Hosabale said: “RSS also urges the Government of Bharat to continue with every possible effort to prevent the ongoing atrocities against Hindus and other religious minorities in Bangladesh and take necessary steps to garner international support in this regard. At this critical juncture, Bharat, the global community, and international institutions must stand with the victims of Bangladesh and express their solidarity. It is necessary to demand respective Governments to take possible efforts in this regard for global peace and fraternity.”
