Statehood for Jammu is justified: JSM
JAMMU: Ghulam Nabi Azad got unexpected support from the RSS-backed Jammu State Morcha (JSM) on Sunday when it said that it was wrong on the part of the Congress to concede the chief ministership to the smaller Kashmir-based People''s Democratic Party (PDP).
JSM chairman Shrikumar, Virender Gupta and Romesh Sabherwal said this clearly proved that there was no alternative before the people of Jammu than to work for the creation of a separate state of Jammu.
1x1 polls

As long as the state remained a single unit in its present form, the people from Kashmir will continue to dominate the people of Jammu and Ladakh regions, they added.
The JSM was formed only on July 14 and it was virtually forced to enter the poll arena as no party was willing to take up the cause of people of Jammu, Virender Gupta said.
The Congress had campaigned on the issue of having a CM from Jammu but it surrendered before the PDP despite being a larger party, he said. The people of Jammu now feel cheated and will vote for the JSM in the next round of elections, he said.
