Congress President Sonia Gandhi has established a lead of nearly three lakh votes over her nearest SP Raj Kumar Chowdhury.

RAE BARELI: Congress President Sonia Gandhi has established a lead of nearly three lakh votes over her nearest Samajwadi Party rival Raj Kumar Chowdhury in the prestigious Rae Bareli bye election, improving her margin from the 2004 Lok Sabha elections by almost 50,000 votes.
At the end of 14th round of counting of votes, Gandhi has polled 3,38,101 votes as against Chowdhury's 38,924 votes.

BJP's Vinay Katiyar got 14,641 votes.
A total of 5.90 lakh votes were polled in the constituency in the May 8 bye election.
