THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Trust
Shashi Tharoor to stand up and speak his mind — the subtlety and sarcasm has occasionally been lost on his intended audiences, though more often they have sagaciously hit their mark.
The Thiruvananthapuram MP who wears several hats — writer, orator, academic, diplomat and politician — is now foraying into stand-up comedy. Tharoor has joined four others for a programme on a streaming service.
Actors
Taapsee Pannu and Richa Chadha, singer-composer Vishal Dadlani and YouTuber Bhuvan Bam are the others who would show their humorous side for the five-part series.
After a trailer of the show was released on Thursday, Tharoor tweeted, “Not a new career move, folks! Just a one-off session, recorded months ago in front of a live audience made up mostly of Millennials. I did about 25 mins of stand-up... Don’t know if my political jokes have made the cut.”
