'Send special force': Bihar dy CM Sinha after convoy attacked; takes shot at 'coward' police
NEW DELHI: Bihar deputy chief minister Vijay Kumar Sinha was seen reprimanding the Lakhisarai Superintendent of Police (SP) and demanding deployment of a "special force" after his convoy was attacked by people he claimed were supporters of the opposition Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD).

“I am here in the village. The crowd is moving closer. I will sit here in protest,” Sinha said. “The SP is weak and cowardly. They are not allowing the deputy chief minister to proceed. The mob has hurled stones and cow dung.”
Accusing Mahagathbandhan CM nominee Tejashwi Yadav's party of orchestrating the attack, the BJP leader added, “These are RJD goons. Look at their hooliganism even before coming to power. They threatened my polling agent and turned him away as early as 6:30 am. They are preventing voters from stepping out. How can the SP claim that polling is being held peacefully? If anything happens, I will sit here and protest in this village.”
Sinha further described the incident as a sign that the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) was poised to return to power, and warned that bulldozers would be used against those responsible for the attack.
"The goons are not letting me visit the village. Vijay Sinha is going to win...They turned away my polling agent and did not let him vote...Look at their hooliganism...This is 404 and 405 booth numbers of Khoriari village," he stated.
Lakhisarai SP Ajay Kumar later told reporters that the situation had been peaceful in the morning; however, tensions broke out when the deputy chief minister arrived and was confronted by some people.
The Lakhisarai assembly constituency, a BJP stronghold, has been represented by Sinha since 2010. He is contesting again from the same seat in the ongoing Bihar assembly elections.
Polling for 121 of the state’s 243 constituencies is underway in the first phase on Wednesday, while the second and final phase for the remaining 122 seats is scheduled for November 11. The counting of votes for both phases will be held on November 14.
Election Commission asks Bihar DGP to take immediate action
Following the incident, Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar (CEC) directed the Bihar DGP to take "immediate action."
"No one will be allowed to take law into their own hands. Strict action will be taken against the miscreants," an official said quoting Kumar.
The CEC requested all voters to cast their votes in their respective booths "without any fear."
