NEW DELHI: The Rizwanur death case accused and Kolkata businessman Ashok Todi, who is allegedly absconding after being slapped with an arrest warrant from the trial court, got a breather on Monday as the Supreme Court asked the agency not to arrest him till November 17.
A Bench comprising Chief Justice K G Balakrishnan and Justices P Sathasivam and J M Panchal did not pass any written order, but orally directed CBI not to arrest the businessman till November 17, when it would hear Todi���s petition challenging the CBI chargesheet.

CBI counsel Amit Tiwari pointed out that the businessman has absconded since a Kolkata court issued a non-bailable arrest warrant and despite pendency of his plea there for recalling of the NBW order.
