NEW DELHI: Members of the Mahagathbandhan alliance created a ruckus in the Bihar assembly on Tuesday, alleging that a BJP MLA had used inappropriate language against an RJD legislator during a debate.
The disturbance began when RJD member Ramvrikish Sada was speaking about the budgetary proposal for the state's Water Resources department for the year 2024-25. BJP member Kumar Shailenda made some remarks against Sada, prompting opposition members to demand an apology.
Deputy Speaker Maheshwar Hazari assured them that the offensive words had been removed, but the Mahagathbandhan members insisted on an unconditional apology. RJD legislator Kumar Sarvjeet criticized the BJP for their derogatory language towards a Dalit MLA, accusing them of being anti-Dalit.
Eventually, the opposition members walked out of the assembly. The budgetary proposal was passed through a voice vote.
