Rahul visits BJP HQ, Sonia writes to Munde’s wife

NEW DELHI: The Congress leadership expressed shock at the demise of rural development minister Gopinath Munde, offering condolences to the departed leader’s family.
Rahul Gandhi went to the BJP headquarters where Munde’s body was kept to offer his last respects. He was accompanied by Uttarakhand chief minister Harish Rawat.
In a letter to Munde’s widow Pradhanya, Sonia Gandhi said, “I know this sorrow is unbearable for you and your family and words of condolence are not enough.But there are accidents in life that are beyond our control and we have to face them. Munde did his best to discharge the responsibilities that he got in his political and public life.”
