'Press such a button that Khattar feels that he is a nakli Khattar, not a real one': Kejriwal slams Union minister
NEW DELHI: Aam Aadmi Party's chief Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday slammed Union minister Manohar Lal Khattar's remarks on farmers protest at Shambhu border and urged voters to press such a button that the BJP leader feel that he is "nakli Khattar not a real one."
Addressing a public rally in Haryana's Meham constituency, Kejriwal called the BJP's intention behind withdrawing three farm laws 'maligned.'
"I want to give a warning. When the farmer's agitation was going on, members of your family reached the Delhi border. I served you for 13 months, I sent food and Jal Board tankers... Finally, when PM Modi thought that he would lose the elections, he withdrew the three laws... But now their intentions are maligned. "
He also recalled actor-politician Kangana Ranaut's statement on the three farm laws. Ranaut has stoked a controversy by saying, "I want them [farmers] to appeal themselves that the three laws be brought back."
"Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said that the people sitting at the Shambhu border were 'Nakli Kisan' (fake farmers). Press such a button this time that Khattar Sahab feels that he is a 'Nakli Khattar', not a real Khattar. Press such a button that they will never speak about the three farm laws. "
This statement came after the Union minister said that "no real farmer" would disrespect the nation by climbing the Red Fort.
Khattar said, “We had a plan to reopen this passage, but some people, not farmers but in their mask, want to disrupt the system. There’s no need to go into detail — you know who they are. We expect a solution soon, but the court will not allow the border to reopen without conditions, especially after the serious violence at the Red Fort. No real farmer would disrespect the nation by climbing the Red Fort."
Farmers were stationed at the Shambhu border after authorities prevented their march to Delhi. The protesters are demanding a legal guarantee for the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for all crops, among other key issues.
