During the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh’s centenary event, Mohan Bhagwat reflected on a past wave of revolutionaries who deeply inspired the country’s independence struggle. He praised Savarkar ji as a brilliant figure of that movement. Bhagwat explained that this revolutionary wave ended after India gained freedom and is no longer necessary but remains a symbol of sacrifice for the nation. He also discussed how, following the 1857 revolt, politics became the main method for achieving independence, led by the Indian National Congress and other parties. He remarked that if this political movement had fully guided the nation, India’s current state might have been very different.
