The event took place at Sher-e-Kashmir Park in Srinagar and attracted approximately 30,000 BJP supporters. Heightened security measures were implemented across Kashmir, including enhanced patrols and several new checkpoints.

This rally follows the BJP's success in the District Development Council elections, where three of its candidates won in Srinagar, Pulwama, and Kupwara districts. This has raised the party's hopes of better performance in the assembly elections.

Highest voter turnout recorded in past 7 polls

On September 18, the first phase of the assembly elections recorded the highest voter turnout in the past seven elections at about 59 percent. Over 2.3 million voters participated to decide the fate of 219 candidates.

Kishtwar saw highest voter turnout

Kishtwar district saw the highest voter turnout at 77 percent, while Pulwama district recorded the lowest at 46 percent.
