Leading Pakistani film-maker Hasan Zaidi was shown the door from a suburban Hotel in Juhu after it found that he was a Pakistani.
MUMBAI: Leading Pakistani film-maker Hasan Zaidi, who like Mahesh Bhatt is a campaigner for bringing Indian and Pakistani film industries together, was shown the door from a suburban Hotel in Juhu after it found that he was a Pakistani. Zaidi, who is in Mumbai for a film, checked into Hotel Juhu Plaza on Monday afternoon but was asked to leave after he was allotted a room in the hotel.
"The booking was done by my producer Sevvy Ali and I drove straight from the airport to the hotel. When I went to my room I got a call from the reception asking me about my nationality. On knowing that I was a Pakistani they told me the hotel did not give accommodation to Pakistanis and Bangla-deshis as a policy," said the film-maker, who organises the Kara Film Festival in Karachi, which screens Hindi films every year.
