One of J&K LG’s 2 advisers asked to leave over ‘charges’

Khan was reportedly ‘dropped’ because of alleged charges against him. Several departments like food, civil supplies and consumer affairs, social welfare, tribal affairs, labour and employment, youth services and sports, co-operative, Haj, agriculture and farmers’ welfare were on his watch.

Former IPS officer Khan retired as IGP of J&K and joined BJP in 2014. He was appointed the party’s national secretary in 2015 and a year later, he became the administrator of Lakshadweep, a position he kept till mid-2019.

He was then appointed advisor to former J&K governor Satya Pal Malik and continued in that role when GC Murmu took charge as the Union territory’s first LG after the abrogation of Article 370 in 2019. He remained with Sinha thereafter.
