Newly appointed minister Shobha Karandlaje deletes old tweets

MANGALURU: Newly appointed minister of state for agriculture and farmers welfare Shobha Karandlaje has deleted all her old tweets while being inducted into the Narendra Modi cabinet on Wednesday.


On Wednesday, @ShobhaBJP, the verified Twitter handle of Shobha Karandlaje, retweeted the tweet of @BJP4India that has pictures of Rajeev Chandrasekhar, Bhanu Pratap Singh Verma, Darshana Vikram Jardosh and herself taking the oath. Later she tweeted expressing gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, home minister Amit Shah, BJP president J P Nadda and people of her constituency.

On Thursday, she retweeted a tweet by Narendra Singh Tomar, minister for agriculture and farmers welfare. In fact, Tomar @nstomar tweeted two pictures of Karandlaje calling on him at Delhi.

, ever since she joined Twitter in 2010, have been deleted. Karandlaje was quick to react to almost all political and communal issues in the state, especially the coastal region. The minister has 2.8 lakh followers, and she is following nearly 1,200 people.

A source close to Karandlaje said that her tweets were deleted based on the instructions of the party.
