NDA, BJP, UDF lead as counting progresses across four states
Across Assam, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, and Kerala, counting is well underway with leads shaping up across all 794 combined assembly seats. In Assam, where 64 seats are needed for a majority in the 126-seat house, NDA holds a tally of 97, having won 20 and leading in 77 more, comfortably crossing the majority mark on current trends. The Congress-led grouping has a tally of 21, all leads with no seats declared yet. Candidates from other parties and independents cumulatively account for a tally of 8 in the state. Tamil Nadu's 234-seat assembly requires 118 for a majority. Candidates from other parties and independents cumulatively lead in the state with a tally of 118, touching the majority mark exactly, with 8 declared and 110 leads still in play. SPA has a tally of 57, with 7 won and 50 leading, while NDA is trailing with a tally of 55, all leads and no seats declared. In West Bengal, the majority mark stands at 148 across 294 seats. BJP holds a tally of 200, having won 8 and leading in 192, well past the majority threshold on current numbers. TMC is trailing with a tally of 84, comprising 1 won and 83 leading seats. Kerala's 140-seat assembly needs 71 for a majority. UDF leads with a tally of 87, having already won 51 seats and leading in 36 more, crossing the majority mark if those leads hold. LDF trails with a tally of 36, with 27 won and 9 leading.
