CM Rekha Gupta presents Rs 1 lakh crore Delhi Budget for 2025-26
Delhi CM Rekha Gupta on Tuesday presented Budget 2025-26 in the state Assembly, with ten focus areas including infrastructure development, electricity, roads, and water.
Rs 5,100 crore for Mahila Samridhi Yojana
Rs 5,100 crore have been allocated to the ‘Mahila Samridhi Yojana’, under which the Delhi government will pay ₹2,500 per month to each eligible woman.
50,000 cameras to be installed for women safety
The BJP-led Delhi government will install 50,000 cameras to ensure a better and safer environment for women, CM Gupta said.
Rs 500 crore for cleaning Yamuna
The cleaning of Yamuna, one of the biggest issues during the Delhi election campaign, will be done at a total budget of ₹500 crore.
'CM Shri' schools; students to get free laptops
Delhi will get new 'CM Shri' schools, with Rs 100 crore allocated for this. Also, free laptops will be provided to 1,200 students passing class 12 exams.
Rs 1,000 crore better connectivity in Delhi-NCR
Rs 1,000 crore have been allocated to improve connectivity in the Delhi-NCR region.
Drinking water and sanitation
For sanitation and clean drinking water, the government has decided to set aside Rs 9,000 crore in the budget.
Rs 12,950-crore boost for transport sector
For the transport sector, the Delhi government has earmarked Rs 12,952 crore in its budget.
Rs 300 crore to curb pollution
To curb pollution, the Delhi government has set aside Rs 300 crore, while Rs 506 crore are for the environment and forest department.
