Meanwhile, Rashtriya Rifle troops rescued two boys -- Hilal Ahmed Dar and Tausif Ahmed Dar -- both residents of Kulgam in Anantnag district, from the captivity of militants in Banihal area.
The troops found the boys during routine patrol in the upper reaches of Banihal when the militants had gone to collect rations.
The boys told that they were kidnapped by a group of militants from their homes in Kulgam village and were being taken to join militancy. They also alleged that inhuman treatment was meted out to them while in captivity.
The boys were handed over to their parents in the presence of a large number of people at Banihal on Tuesday, the sources said.
