Maharashtra Political Crisis: Requested governor to ask MVA govt to prove its majority, says Devendra Fadnavis

According to sources, before Fadnavis landed at the Raj Bhavan here, eight Independent MLAs, who were earlier associated with the Shiv Sena, sent emails from Guwahati -- where the rebel group headed by Shinde is camping -- seeking floor test at the earliest claiming that Thackeray government has lost its majority.

Meanwhile, the Raj Bhavan has termed a letter, which was being circulated on the social media about the Maharashtra governor asking for a floor test in the legislative assembly on June 30, as "fake".

After discussions with Amit Shah and JP Nadda, Devendra Fadnavis, along with several MLAs, reached Raj Bhavan to meet the Governor, reports Times Now.

Around 15 Shiv Sena functionaries from Dombivli have resigned from their posts in support of Eknath Shinde. The supporters include Rajesh Kadam, deputy district president of Thane district.

In response to Uddhav Thackeray’s appeal, rebel leader Eknath Shinde has said on Twitter, "One one hand your son and spokesperson can call Balasaheb's Shiv Sainiks pigs, buffaloes, filth, dogs and corpses and on the other hand, there is an attempt to unite the same MLAs to save the anti-Hindu MVA government. What does this mean?"

Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut at rally in Alibaug on Tuesday said "traitors should not be allowed to roam in the streets".
