Madhubani Election Results 2025 Highlights: Madhav Anand delivers big win for RLM
NEW DELHI: After 32 rounds of counting in Madhubani assembly constituency, Rashtriya Lok Morcha's (RLM) candidate Madhav Anand won the seat by securing 97,956 votes.
The assembly elections saw a fierce three-way contest between RJD’s Samir Kumar Mahaseth, RLM's Madhav Anand and Jan Suraaj's Anil Kumar Mishra.
RJD’s candidate Samir Kumar Mahaseth received 77,404 votes while Jan Suraaj's Anil Kumar Mishra garnered 8453 votes.
Polling has concluded and the fate of the candidates is now sealed in the electronic voting machines. The constituency recorded 68.54 per cent turnout, according to election officials.

The Dainik Bhaskar poll projected 145–160 seats for the NDA and 73–91 for the Mahagathbandhan. It further suggested that Jan Suraaj may not win any seat, while others could secure 5–10.

According to JVC-Polls, the NDA could win 135–150 seats, the Mahagathbandhan 88–103, and others 3–6. Matrize predicted 147–167 seats for the NDA and 70–90 for the opposition alliance, along with 2–10 for others. People’s Insight forecast 133–148 seats for the NDA, 87–102 for the Mahagathbandhan, and 3–6 for other parties.
The Election Commission reported a 68.52 per cent turnout in the second phase of polling across 122 constituencies as of 5 pm on Tuesday.
Madhubani assembly constituency combines town areas and nearby villages, with Brahmins, Muslims, Yadavs, Kayasthas, and about 13% SC voters. In 2020, it had 3,46,962 electors with a turnout of 54.13% and 1,87,739 valid votes. RJD’s Samir Kumar Mahaseth won with 71,332 votes, defeating VIP’s Suman Kumar Mahaseth, who secured 64,518, by 6,814. The contest here is largely bipolar between RJD and NDA constituents.
