Lok Sabha Election in Sikkim 2024: Date, schedule, constituency details

NEW DELHI: The voting for Lok Sabha seat in Sikkim would be done in a single phase on April 19, the Election Commission of India announced on Saturday.

The counting of votes would be done on June 4.

Sikkim is represented by a single seat in the Lok Sabha. Due to its geographical location the state usually witnesses the domination of regional parties. Some of the major parties that contest from here are Sikkim Krantikari Morcha, Sikkim Democratic Front, BJP, INC.

Indian National Congress (INC) has fielded Gopal Chettri for the Sikkim seat.

Remaining parties are yet to announce their candidates.

In 2019, the seat was won by Indra Hang Subba from the Sikkim Krantikari Morcha party. The elections in this state are likely to be conducted in a single phase.
