DEHRA DUN: B C Khanduri will be the new chief minister of Uttarakhand. The former Union minister was elected as the leader of the BJP Legislature Party after a marathon six-hour meeting in Dehra Dun on Thursday.Party's central observer Gopinath Munde said Khanduri's name was proposed by Uttarakhand BJP president Bhagat Singh Koshiyari and seconded by state party general secretary Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank.
"The decision has been taken unanimously by all the 34 MLAs," he said.
Sources, however, said the meeting continued for long because initially there was no consensus among the MLAs on Khanduri's name and the party's central leaders had to talk to individual legislators to reach on an unanimous decision.
