Similarly, in Naxalism-hit theatres, incidents were down by 53% in 2014-2024 as compared to 2004-14; and resulting deaths by over 70% in the period under comparison. In 2025, a total of 226 Naxalites were killed, 418 including 2 central committee leaders, arrested and 896 had surrendered. Eighteen top Naxal leaders, including CPI(Maoist) general secretary Basavaraju, have been neutralised between 2019 and 2025.Northeast insurgency too dipped with a fall of 70% in incidents and 82% in resulting deaths between 2014-2014, as compared to 2004-14. A dozen peace pacts were signed with northeastern insurgent groups and rebel outfits after 2019, to restore lasting peace in the region.
