NEW DELHI: Pradeep Dutta, a reporter of 'Times Now' news channel, on Monday bagged the Mahboob ul Haq award instituted by the Colombo-based Regional Council of Strategic Studies, the first journalist from India to win the honour.
Dutta was awarded for his work on Indo-Pak Water Politics and Cooperative Security in South Asia.
A jury comprising Stephen Cohen, of the Brookings Institute, Gowhar Rizvi, a former Ford Foundation representative and Rifaat Rizvi, Executive Director of the Regional Council if Strategic Studies (RCSS), Colombo analysed the various entries for the award.

Besides cash award, the RCSS will provide assistance for further research in this field and publication of his report.
Another awardee Sanam Noor, a research officer with International Affairs, Karachi will also work with Dutta on the project.
