Independence Day speech: Our decisions, sacrifices in this period will impact next 1000 years, PM Modi says

NEW DELHI: Addressing the nation from the rampart of the Red Fort, PM Modi said on Tuesday that our decisions, sacrifices in this period will impact us for next 1000 years.

"India is marching ahead with new confidence and resolve," the PM said in his 10th consecutive address from the Red Fort.

The PM said the trinity of demography, democracy and diversity has the power to realise the dreams of the nation.

Earlier, PM Modi also mentioned about the violence in Manipur in his address and spoke about the cycle of violence, incidents of atrocities against women in the state.

"The situation is improving and peace is returning to Manipur," PM Modi said.



"The country is with the people of Manipur, and the Centre and state working to resolve issues," the PM said.
