Dabi first made the headlines in 2015 when she topped the civil services exam, becoming the first-ever Dalit girl to top the UPSC examination.
She married Athar Aamir Ul
Shafi Khan
, who came second in the 2015 IAS examinations, however, the marriage was short-lived and the couple got divorced in the year 2021. Now, Dabi is engaged to Gawande. Both are officers of the Rajasthan cadre.
The couple shared the news on Instagram by posting pictures of them being together. Dabi took to social media to announce her engagement. "I'm wearing the smile you gave me #fiance," wrote Dabi. She also tagged Gawande in the picture.
Dabi, 28, is presently posted as the Joint Secretary Finance (Tax) to the government of Rajasthan while Gawande, 41, is posted as Director of archaeology and museums in the state. He is also a doctor, according to his Instagram profile.
