'Hustle culture comes with a cost': Tech entrepreneur Kritarth Mittal hospitalised, blames unhealthy lifestyle

NEW DELHI: Mumbai-based entrepreneur and founder of Soshals Kritarth Mittal has taken to social media to reveal the hidden costs of hustle culture, sharing an account of the toll his lifestyle has taken on his health. In a tweet that has since sparked widespread discussion, Mittal posted a photo from a hospital bed, warning others about the dangers of an unbalanced work routine.

“Hustle culture comes with a cost — some you incur right away and some over decades. Choice is yours, I'm just here to show you the ugly side of it so you don't get swayed easy. This is me after pulling all-nighters, sleeping for less than 5-6 hours, and no diet plan,” Mittal tweeted.

The entrepreneur, who has built a successful career in the tech industry, admitted that his grueling schedule, which has been part of his life since college, has finally caught up with him. “TBH (to be honest) my routine has been like that since my college days but now my body has started to remind me that I am not 20 anymore,” he said in a follow-up post.

Mittal, an alumnus of SRM Institute of Science and Technology in Chennai, acknowledged that while he has attempted to implement healthier habits, maintaining a routine has proven difficult. “I have a diet plan and I've tried to set up a sleep cycle, I just am ridiculously bad at following a routine. When I'm working, I lose track of time and then everything after that gets disrupted in order.”

The effects of his lifestyle have been stark, with Mittal describing his struggles with constant body pain and dark circles. Determined to turn things around, he pledged to prioritize his health moving forward.

Mittal’s candid admission has struck a chord with many, sparking conversations about the pressures of hustle culture and the importance of work-life balance, especially in fast-paced industries like tech.
