Hindu outfits demand release of ISKCON leader in Bangladesh

CHENNAI: Multiple Hindu organizations, including the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP), and Chinmaya Mission, have united to demand the immediate release of Chinmoy Krishna Das Brahmachari, an ISKCON leader, arrested by Bangladesh’s Detective Branch on Nov 25 at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka.

Chinmoy Krishna Das was detained by the Detective Branch of Bangladesh Police at Dhaka’s Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.

An advocate for Hindu minority rights, Das has actively raised concerns about attacks on temples and monasteries in Bangladesh. Authorities have charged him under the Sedition Act, accusing him of provoking unrest during a rally in Chattogram on October 25.

Hindu organizations have condemned the arrest, calling it a threat to freedom of speech and minority rights. They urge the Bangladeshi government to ensure a fair investigation, while appealing to international human rights bodies to monitor the case and advocate for justice.
