The hair of a Sikh prisoner were forcibly cut off by four other inmates of district Central Jail at Sewar.

BHARATPUR: In yet another such incident in Rajasthan, the hair of a Sikh prisoner were forcibly cut off by four other inmates of district Central Jail at Sewar, five kms from here, on Wednesday.
Identified as Pratap Singh, the prisoner is undergoing life imprisonment in for murder, District Collector R Venkatswaran told reporters here adding the additional collector would be investigating into the matter.

As the news of the incident spread, a group of Sikhs, led by BJP Sikh leaders Sardar Tara Singh and Gurdip Singh reached the central jail to meet the victim but were not allowed to go inside.
Senior police officials have reached the spot and started investigating other prisoners some of whom claimed that Partap had cut his hair himself when his request to be shifed from the Central jail elesewhere was turned down and his petition for parole dismissed.
