Farmers to block rail traffic in Punjab on Thursday
On whether any new committee will be formed for talks with the farmers, agriculture minister Arjun Munda said that, as far as forming the committee is concerned, we have said that the administrative work will be executed at a fast pace and we will provide it to the people.
The way things are being said by (farmer) organisations and how instead of solving the problems, they are trying to add to those problems, is creating difficulties for the people. I would request all the farmer organisations to take initiatives that can strengthen a way to solve the problem and to find a solution through dialogue, the government is completely ready for it.
Union agriculture minister Arjun Munda further said that the government is completely ready to find a solution through dialogue, but the farmer's organisations, instead of solving the problems, are only adding to them.
I would like to urge all the leaders from different farmers' organisations to cooperate and communicate so that the common people shouldn't have to suffer. The government is determined in this regard. We have assured them that all the works of administrative nature will be fast-tracked. But in the formulation of new laws, there are so many things to consider. In the coming days, we want to discuss with the farmers' organisations and look for any possible solutions/
'Several things to consider in formulation of new laws; want to discuss with the farmers': Arjun Munda
Farmers Protest Live: Union ministers to hold discussions with farmer groups' leaders today
Union ministers Arjun Munda, Piyush Goyal, Nityanand Rai to hold meeting with leaders of farmer groups' on Wednesday evening: Sources
When this government brought those three black laws for the farmers, questions arose as to what was the need. Those three laws would have privatised our agriculture sector... The Swaminathan Committee report said that the MSP should be 1.5 times the detailed cost of production. He gave the Bharat Ratna to MS Swaminathan and also Chaudhary Charan Singh, all this is a hypocrisy.

On the farmers' march, Haryana home minister Anil Vij says "The report on MSP came in 2004 when Congress was in power. Why didn't they do anything in 10 years?... The farmers want to go to Delhi and have a conversation with representatives of the Govt but when they came to Chandigarh, the farmer leaders refused to talk to them. I am surprised that the Punjab Govt has released a notice asking us not to send drones to our border.... When farmers started moving from Amritsar, they did not even try to stop them. This clearly means that they want the farmers to create terror in Delhi. Stone pelting is going on and one of our DSP & 25 other police officers are injured in this..."
I request all the farmer unions that solution to any issue can be found through dialogue and mutual understanding. We would request that such situation, where normal life is disrupted, should not arise,
The Congress party has made an official commitment to implement MSP, on the other hand, the Centre, which had committed two years ago that it will form MSP law and now their term is ending, they should have fulfilled their promise. Instead of barricading roads, deploying forces, it would have been better for the government to hold talks with the farmers.
