Declaring that the people of Haryana have rejected the BJP, the Congress on Friday accused the saffron party of using allurements of money and power to get a majority and said a government formed through such means would be "illegitimate". (PTI)

Eighty-four of the 90 newly elected Haryana MLAs are crorepatis, according to an analysis by poll watchdog Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR). In the outgoing assembly, 75 of the 90 MLAs possess assets worth more than Rs 1 crore, which means that the number of crorepati legislators has increased by 10 percent, the ADR report said. (PTI)

Adding insult to injury was the humiliating defeat of its state unit chief Subhash Barala, who lost to the JJP’s Devender Babli by a handsome 52,302 votes.
