NEW DELHI: The Election Commission on Tuesday extended the SIR deadlines for West Bengal by two weeks, allowing scrutiny of documents and disposal of claims and objections till February 21.

On Jan 20, SC extended this deadline further to Feb 7.
As per the latest SIR schedule issued by EC on Tuesday, hearing on SIR notices will continue till Feb 14, and scrutiny of documents and disposal wound up by Feb 21. Rationalisation of polling stations shall be done by Feb 25 and health parameters of the roll checked by Feb 27. The date of final publication of the electoral roll for West Bengal now stands revised to Feb 28.
