Kalyanasundaram tendered his resignation from all party posts on July 30 demanding party chief M Karunanidhi’s son M K Stalin be announced as DMK’s next chief ministerial candidate.
In his resignation letter, which was sent to party chief M Karunanindhi and Anbazhagan, Kalyanasundaram also demanded that tainted leaders like Kanimozhi, A Raja and Dayanidhi Maran be removed from the party and people who face land grabbing and disproportionate assets cases be stripped of all party posts.
In the letter, which was released to the media on Wednesday, he suggested a few steps for strengthening the party.
The letter faulted the DMK leadership for leaving the party reorganization work half way through. Though the party district units were bifurcated for easy administration, office bearers were not appointed to head all the newly created districts, he said.
