BJP focuses on Delhi seat nominations; Kejriwal alleges large-scale voter fraud
The BJP leadership has intensified its preparations for the upcoming Delhi elections, with senior party members discussing seat nominations and election strategies. BJP MPs Yogendra Chandolia and Praveen Khandelwal shared details from the party's core group meeting, attended by Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP President JP Nadda.
Chandolia noted that the leadership was meticulously reviewing nominations. "Union Home Minister Amit Shah and all Delhi in-charges are discussing nominations for all seats. JP Nadda has sought opinions on 41 seats, and the parliamentary board may finalise the list today or tomorrow," he said.
Khandelwal added that the meeting also covered organisational matters, with leaders receiving guidance from Shah and Nadda.
BJP candidate from Rajouri Garden, Manjinder Singh Sirsa, criticised the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government, accusing it of neglecting public health. "In one year, 21,000 people died due to unclean water in Delhi. The public wants to oust AAP and bring BJP for development," he said. Sirsa also condemned Kejriwal's remarks on Purvanchal voters, calling it disrespectful.
He further alleged bias against the Jat community under the AAP administration. "In 10 years, Kejriwal has not given a single ticket to a Jat candidate, yet now he remembers them," Sirsa remarked.
On the other hand, AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal accused the BJP of voter fraud in the New Delhi Assembly constituency. He claimed the local election officer had "surrendered" to the BJP and was aiding fraudulent activities.
Kejriwal highlighted an alarming number of fake voter cancellation applications. "Between 15 December and 7 January, 5,500 fake applications for vote cancellations were filed. In the last 15 days, 13,000 applications have come in. This is a massive scam," he alleged, demanding the suspension of the district election officer (DEO) and electoral registration officer (ERO).
The AAP leader asserted that the Election Commission assured action against malpractice. "The ECI has assured us that such practices will not be allowed, and strict action will follow," he stated.

In his complaint to the Election Commission, Kejriwal alleged that 13,000 new voter registrations had been made between December 15 and January 8, with many purportedly being brought in from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.

She said, "In 10 years of governance, AAP did not raise this issue in the Delhi Assembly or on public platforms. Reservation is a state subject, yet the AAP government failed to act."
NDMC Chairman Kuljeet Singh Chahal echoed the criticism, stating, "Jat reservation is just an election slogan for Kejriwal. If AAP has done anything for the Jat community in the last 10 years, let them present it. We are ready for an open debate."
The BJP leaders also highlighted the community's support for the BJP in Haryana and Uttar Pradesh, asserting that the Jat community stands firmly with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Kejriwal accuses BJP of bribing voters ahead of Delhi elections
Former Delhi chief minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal has voiced concerns over alleged voter bribery by the BJP ahead of the upcoming Delhi elections. In a post on X, Kejriwal accused the BJP of distributing money and goods to sway voters. "We recently complained to the Election Commission about the open distribution of money, job registrations, and items like spectacles. Now, they’ve started distributing bedsheets openly," he wrote. Meanwhile, BJP workers staged a 'Purvanchal Samman March' from Ashoka Road to Kejriwal's residence on Friday, protesting his alleged derogatory remarks against Purvanchalis. The march turned tense as Delhi Police used water cannons to disperse protesters attempting to breach barricades near Kejriwal’s Feroze Shah Road residence. Several BJP workers were detained.
