Delhi Election 2025 Live Updates: 'Delhi people are asking who will be BJP's CM face,' says Atishi

Delhi Election 2025 Date Live Updates: AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal has called on the Election Commission (EC) to take action against BJP leader Parvesh Verma, demanding his disqualification from contesting the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections. Kejriwal also requested a raid on Verma’s residence to scrutinise his financial dealings. In his appeal to the EC chief, Kejriwal expressed concerns that local election officials were allegedly aiding the BJP's purported malpractices, which he claimed could compromise the integrity of the polls."The current practices could make the entire election process a farce," Kejriwal said, adding that the EC had assured him of stringent measures to uphold fairness in the election.Responding to Kejriwal’s accusations, Verma, the BJP candidate for the New Delhi constituency, dismissed the claims, suggesting that Kejriwal was uneasy about the BJP's growing influence in Delhi. Verma asserted that the INDIA alliance lacked substantial support in the capital and accused Kejriwal of seeking alliances with parties that have no electoral presence. "Kejriwal knows that the BJP will form the government in Delhi, and he is nervous," Verma said. He also criticised the INDIA bloc, pointing to internal disputes among its members following the Maharashtra Assembly elections.Amid the political tussle, Kejriwal welcomed the endorsement of AAP by Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Mamata Banerjee, expressing gratitude for her support in the February 5 Delhi elections.Follow TOI for live updates:
