In view of the sudden surge in Covid cases in many countries, the Indian medical association, Goa State branch has alerted public to follow Covid appropriate behaviour.

The association has appealed for wearing of face masks in all crowded public places, social distancing and regular hand washing with soap or use of sanitisers.It has also advised people to consult the doctor in case of any symptoms like fever, sore throad, cough, loose motions etc and get the Covid vaccination including precautionary dose at the earliest.

The two per cent random testing of international passengers arriving in the state will continue until revised directions from the Centre, state Health Minister Dr K Sudhakar said.

Many trader associations across Delhi have asked shop owners to wear masks, use sanitisers and follow social distancing norms amid concerns over the surge in Covid cases in some countries. Fearing that the possible surge here will impact their business yet again, some of these associations have also called meetings to discuss their future course of action.

The high-level meeting has been called as there has been a surge in Covid cases in China, Japan, South Korea, France and the United States.

The spike is being blamed on new Omicron sub-variant BF.7, which has also been detected in four states in India.
