Ram Nath Kovind elected President

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today greeted Ram Nath Kovind on being elected President of the country. Nitish Kumar broke ranks with opposition and pledged JD(U) support to him in presidential poll.

Ram Nath Kovind is the new President of India. This is for the first time that India will have a President hailing from Uttar Pradesh, a state known for giving the country the most number of prime ministers &ndash; nine to date. Tamil Nadu and undivided Andhra Pradesh are the two states that have sent three President&#39;s each to Rashtrapati Bhavan as India&rsquo;s first citizens.
