Philippines reports 1,738 new coronavirus cases, seven deaths
The Philippines' health ministry on Monday recorded 1,738 new coronavirus infections and seven additional deaths, the lowest daily increase in casualties in nearly three months. In a bulletin, the ministry said total confirmed cases had increased to 409,574, while deaths had reached 7,839.

Odisha reports 749 new Covid-19 cases, 16 more deaths
At least 749 more people tested positive for Covid-19 in Odisha, taking the tally to 3,09,408 on Monday, while 16 fresh fatalities pushed the toll in the state to 1,543, a health department official said. Of the 749 cases, 437 were reported from quarantine centres, and the remaining detected during contact tracing.

The Czech Republic, one of the worst-hit countries in Europe amid the second the wave of the coronavirus pandemic, reported 1,887 new cases for Nov. 15, its lowest daily tally since Oct. 4, Health ministry data showed on Monday.

Maharashtra: 907 new Covid-19 cases in Thane; 14 more deaths
Thane has reported 907 new cases of Covid-19, taking the tally of infections in the Maharashtra district to 2,19,473, an official said on Monday. The district also reported 14 deaths due to coronavirus on Sunday, raising the toll to 5,521, he said. So far, 2,07,527 patients have recovered, while there are 6,425 active Covid-19 cases in the district.The COVID-19 recovery rate in the district is 94.56 per cent, while the mortality rate stands at 2.52 per cent, the official said.

Johnson & Johnson launched a new large-scale late-stage trial on Monday to test a two-dose regimen of its experimental Covid-19 vaccine and evaluate potential incremental benefits for the duration of protection with a second dose. The US drugmaker plans to enrol up to 30,000 participants for the study and run it in parallel with a one-dose trial with as many as 60,000 volunteers that began in September.

Arunachal Pradesh reports more Covid-19 recoveries than fresh cases
For the second consecutive day Arunachal Pradesh reported more Covid-19 recoveries than fresh cases as 79 people were cured of the disease while 20 new infections pushed the tally to 15,812, a health department official said on Monday. With 79 more people getting cured of Covid-19, the total number of recoveries rose to 14,500.

Nine more people tested positive for Covid-19 in Andaman and Nicobar Islands, pushing the union territory's coronavirus caseload to 4,536, a health department official said on Monday. Of the nine new cases, five were detected during contact tracing, while four have travel history, the official said.
