KANCHIPURAM: Appu, alias Krishnaswamy, one of the key accused in the Sankararaman murder case in which Kanchi Shankaracharya Jayendra Saraswati is allegedly involved, was interrogated on Sunday night after he surrendered to Tamil Nadu police in Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh.
The accused was interrogated throughout Sunday night in a hotel in Mamallpuram, about 45 kms from Kanchipuram, and also on his way from Chittoor, head of the Special Investigating Team (SIT), K Prem Kumar, said on Monday.
Appu, alias Krishnasamy, would be produced before a court in Kanchipuram later in the day.
Appu, who was hiding at a farmhouse belonging to his brother-in-law Changalaraya Reddy, gave himself up to Kancheepuram superintendent of police Prem Kumar at around 6 pm on Sunday.
