Constable shot dead in Kashmir

SRINAGAR: A Jammu & Kashmir police constable was killed and a civilian wounded after unidentified militants fired on a patrol at Arwini near Bijbehara in Anantnag district on Monday.
An official spokesman said constable Salamatullah belonged to the Special Operation Group and was from Uri in north Kashmir. "He was on duty along with his colleagues at Arwini when militants fired…civilian Sheraz Ahmad Naikoo received injuries in his arm."
Militants have killed over 2,000 policemen during the two-decade-long insurgency.
