Cold wave abates, mercury rises in Rajasthan

JAIPUR: With the onset of westerndisturbances, cold wave on Friday abated completely in entire Rajasthan givingpeople respite from cold wave conditions prevailing since early this month, aMet official said here.Churu and Pilani, however, remained thecoldest places in the state with 6.4 degree celsius of minimum temperature onThursday night.People in Jaipur and elsewhere heaved a sigh ofrelief as icy winds stopped and sun rays got brighter and soothing. Jaipur'sminimum temperature was 9.7 degree celsius.Rest of the cities andtowns recorded the minimum temperature in the range of 8 and 14 degreecelsius.Mercury would further rise as the upper air cyclonic systemwill continue, the Met office predicted.
